Parents as Partners

We believe at Honeybear that an open access policy is the best way of encouraging participation.

Parental input is one of the main keys to our success of offering high quality childcare to our children. Parents are the best educators in their child’s life and help to educate our staff on their child’s needs and requirements.

We encourage comments and suggestions from parents and carers as we find this helps to develop our service from the views of our customers. We have a ‘comments & suggestions’ box in our entrance hall for staff and children and send out annual feedback sheets for parents to fill in. Parents can also comment on their child’s development on a comments sheet that is kept in their child’s learning journey file. We keep parents informed of events and changes that are happening in the nursery by way of a daily notice board, monthly newsletters sent by e-mail and by broadcasting at our Twitter account using a secure connection. We aim to provide timely information when possible in order to assist the parents’ partnership with the nursery routine.

Our door is always open for parents who want to chat about any requirements or concerns they might have. We aim to build effective relationships with our parents and maintain close contact on a daily basis. Each child’s key worker will pass on information about their day. Babies and teenies receive a daily report book and toddlers a weekly progress book. We arrange two social evenings a year.
