National Storytelling Week 2024

National Storytelling Week 2022 takes place from 29th January to 4th February.

The Society for Storytelling was set up to promote the oldest art form in the world. Storytelling is also the traditional medium of communication from generation to generation, a tool for education and therapy.  National Storytelling Week started in the year 2000 to
increase public awareness of the art, practice and value of oral storytelling.

We will be marking National Storytelling Week by encouraging the children to tell us their stories.  Their stories could be as simple as what they had for lunch; or more imaginative, for instance telling us what they would see if they were an astronaut.  Storytelling is a great skill to develop, allowing children to use their imaginations and develop their communication skills.
