Yoga is an ancient practice that originated 5,000 years ago in India. Yoga was developed as a way to interconnect the mind, body and soul. As the practice became more popular it was recognised as an exercise and relaxation method, with helps the body’s general well-being, alleviates physical injuries and chronic pain.
In the Nurseries we regularly undertake yoga with the children. Not only does it encourage the children’s flexibility, but it also encourages their mindfulness, allowing them to concentrate on their breathing.
