Travel and Transport – Our Theme for February
We have set a theme for each month of 2021 – with February’s theme being “Travel and Transport”.
We will use the theme to help design our activities for the children, ensuring that we engage the children, undertaking fun activities which support the children’s development. We hope parents can build upon our themes at home too, encouraging a strong partnership between parents and the Nursery.
For our Travel and Transport theme we will be exploring the world; as well as looking at different types of transportation including bicycles, cars, aeroplanes, boats and spaceships. We have lots of transportation based toys within the Nurseries, which we will be using, encouraging the children to role play together.
We will be encouraging the children to talk about the travel they undertake, which of course at the moment will be more limited than normal. Nevertheless we will be talking about where they travel and the mode of transport they use.
We will be using nursery rhymes such as The Wheels on the Bus, to explore the different parts of the bus. You may like to watch The Wheels on the Bus with your child, joining in with the words and the actions – watch this video from you-tube.
